Shippensburg University-Millersville University Master of Social Work (MU-SU MSW)

Millersville and Shippensburg Universities, in a historic joint arrangement, began offering an MSW program in Fall 2006. The joint program includes a mix of traditional campus based instruction and distance education technology and allows students to take courses at the campus of their choice. The program is fully accredited by CSWE.

Students are admitted into the 36-credit Advanced Standing Program and the 60-credit Regular Admission Program during the summer term only.

Applications for the next class beginning in May 2012 are NOW being accepted.

Applications will be accepted until March 1, 2012 or until program is full

All applications for the Shippensburg campus are accepted through the Shippensburg University Graduate Admissions office.  The process is not complex, just follow the directions on the application checklist.  Start the process with the Graduate Admission’s application.  Next, under the heading: Graduates, apply for Summer 2012 as the Social Work program begins in the summer during Term I.  Then, complete the other online forms:  MSW Track Selection, Required Liberal Arts courses, Academic & Professional statement, and resume.  Also, download copies of the reference form and if you are seeking Advanced Standing, the Advanced Standing recommendation form.  The Advanced Standing Recommendation form is required for BSW graduates with an overall GPA of 3.0, a social work GPA of 3.25 and a degree from an accredited program within the last 8 years who would like to be considered for Advanced Standing.

The Graduate Admissions office is asking that all application materials with the exception of the graduate admission’s application be submitted by email to DyAnna Stevens (DRStev@ship.edu). To learn more about the MSW program and specific requirements, read the information on the Graduate Admission’s website.
