The University Union & Student Activities (CUB) can provide numerous opportunities for graduate students to complete their field experiences. Due to the numerous areas of responsibilities within the department we work with graduate students to create a field experience which compliments their academic and professional goals. Field Experiences within our office require commitment and dedication due to the numerous programs and meetings requiring staff support. We are extremely flexible with work schedules and feel that the benefits associated with working in our office can be compared with no other departments on campus.

Under the Direction of the Director and Assistant Directors, the Graduate Assistants will share responsibility for the overall leadership for the University Union Student Activities. The Graduate Assistants shall be responsible for supporting the day to day operations of the Ceddia Union Building (CUB) and Cora I. Grove Interfaith Chapel & Spiritual Center including, student employee staffing, scheduling and training, reservations, event and meeting set-ups, equipment inventory and building maintenance. These individuals will share responsibility for web page design & maintenance, design and layout for manuals, brochures & department publications and overall graphic design for advertising and marketing events. These individuals will also serve as advisors to the Activities Program Board (APB) and a programming resource for all student clubs & organizations. This position requires dedicated and motivated individuals who can work autonomously or in a group setting within a fast paced student affairs department. The successful candidate will provide coverage and supervision for evening and weekend events and for the operations of the University Union. Due to the scope of the department this position requires a great deal of flexibility within the work schedule and arrangements will be made to compensate for hours above and beyond the normal work schedule.
Our assistantships are designed to provide our graduate assistants with the necessary knowledge, skills and work experience to obtain an entry level professional position within student affairs. Our department is a work hard – play hard office with numerous tangible benefits. The successful candidates for our graduate assistantships should understand that the hours and scope of work is demanding, requires a great deal of flexibility within the work schedule and wants to work in an environment where learning is at the core for the department’s area of responsibilities. These assistantships are designed for a two-(2) year commitment including summers. Candidates should factor in tuition as a part of their compensation for Graduate Assistantships within our office.
