University increases scholarship amount, adds new scholarship
Shippensburg University is increasing its Valedictorian Board of Governors' Scholarship and adding a new Salutatorian Board of Governors' Scholarship.
The valedictorian scholarship, formerly $5,000 annually, will now be increased to full tuition. The salutatorian scholarship will also be for full tuition. Both scholarships are available to Pennsylvania residents who graduated from an accredited Pennsylvania high school. The scholarship requires documentation from the high school verifying the valedictorian or salutatorian designation of the applicant.
"These scholarships enable the best and brightest of Pennsylvania's high school graduates to continue their education at a university nationally recognized for its academic excellence," said University President Bill Ruud. "The future of Pennsylvania depends on educating its young men and women and this is another opportunity for those students to reach their academic goals."
Each scholarship is renewable for up to four years as long as students meet appropriate academic requirements, maintain a minimum quality grade point average of at least 3.0, and earn at least 12 credits per semester.
