Credit-Based Programs and Courses

Shippensburg University offers programs and courses in adult-friendly formats such as in the evenings, on the weekends, in a condensed schedule and/or through distance and online education. Some of our off-campus programs are designed as "cohorts," which encourage camaraderie and peer support by following a specific course schedule throughout the degree program.  K-12 Educators Institute

The K-12 Educators Institute is a series of short-term graduate workshop courses offered for professionals at all levels of K-12 instruction. Courses range from one to three graduate credits and cover a variety of subject areas that support professional development and meet Act 48 requirements.

  • Courses offered online, on-campus and at a variety of on-site locations
  • Most courses can be completed in just one or two weeks  
  • Courses offered for graduate credit and/or continuing education units
  • Subject areas include: art, biology, communications, geography, social studies, athletics, social work, counseling, library science, and more!

Short Term Study Abroad Courses

Shippensburg University encourages students in all majors to engage in a study abroad experience. Short term study abroad courses offer students the opportunity to have an international educational experience in one of the most cost and time efficient manners possible.

The short term study abroad courses are sponsored and taught by Shippensburg University faculty at various times throughout the year, primarily in the summer, and typically range from one to four weeks in duration.

Since there is a growing level of interest and demand for these short term study abroad courses, students are encouraged to attend any informational sessions and register to secure a space in their course of choice in a timely manner.
