General and Distance Ed Coordination

The General Education Council and the Academic Outreach committee both function in coordination with the UCC.

General Education Council

The General Education Council considers courses that sponsors propose to be added to the general education curriculum. Course approval through this council is required before UCC approval can be received. The General Education Council provides representation at all UCC meetings.

Academic Outreach Subcommittee (DE)

The Academic Outreach Subcommittee takes an active role in reviewing undergraduate program proposals that incorporate online teaching modes. This subcommittee is responsible for the distance education policies at SHIP and works with the UCC to ensure that online courses and programs are in keeping with the policies in place. The Academic Outreach Subcommittee provides representation at all UCC meetings.
