Entrepreneurship Minor

The entrepreneurship minor provides you with strong business knowledge and skills with an emphasis on innovation and problem solving.

What Will I Learn?

The entrepreneurship minor is a very rigorous program that involves you in business plan creation, idea generation, new product development, investment acquisition decisions and small business management. Expect to be engaged in case learning and hands-on instruction in the classroom and projects that advance your understanding of entrepreneurial leadership and innovation. This minor will prepare you to succeed in a rapidly changing world.

What are the requirements for this degree?

Six courses (18 credits) are needed to complete the minor. These include:

  • 5 required courses
    • 3 provide a fundamental background in accounting, finance and marketing
    • 2 focus on the basics of entrepreneurship and managing small businesses
  • 1 elective so you can explore further in entrepreneurship, marketing or management

What Types of Careers Could I Get With This Degree?

You will be exposed to entrepreneurial thinking, opportunity identification, capital funding and other aspects of the entrepreneurial process applicable in business startups, as well as in existing businesses, governmental organizations and nonprofits.
