Out-of-State Tuition Advantage Program (TAP)

  • SHIP has lowered undergraduate tuition rates for all out-of-state residents (225% of in-state tuition, down from 250%). To see if you qualify for even lower rates, see the chart below.

High-Achieving Student Discount

  • First-year students who earn a 1200 SAT or better (Critical Reading + Critical Math) or who graduate in the top 10% of their high school class receive a 175% tuition rate.
  • Transfer students who have earned less than 30 college level credits and have a minimum GPA of 2.5 receive 175%.
  • Transfer students who have earned 30 or more college level credits and have a minimum GPA of 2.8 receive 175%.

STEM Major Discount

Students enrolled in a STEM major (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) or STEM Education major receive a 175% tuition rate. In addition to the TAP STEM Major Discount, out-of-state applicants have the opportunity to apply for Scholarships for Educational Achievement in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (SEA-STEM). This grant is funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF). Additional information can be found on SEA-STEM's page.

Pay 175% of in-state tuition instead of 225%. At this year's rate, the savings is $1,607 per semester or $3,214 per year.

Dual Admission Discount for Transfer Students

Students enrolled in a Dual Admission Program with a participating community college receive a 150% tuition rate.
