Homecoming week activities are listed below, as well as which activities request your advance RSVP, and how to RSVP.    Register Now.

Remember to purchase your tickets in advance for the Athletic Hall of Fame lunch, and while complimentary, your RSVP is appreciated for the President's Postgame Supper.


Professional Dress Closet: Bring your gently used professional items with you.

The Raider Ready Professional Dress Closet (RRPDC) at Shippensburg University is housed and managed by the Career, Mentoring, and Professional Development Center (CMPDC), and is operated in conjunction with the Women Leaders of the College of Business. The RRPDC offers wardrobe options to students as they prepare for professional meetings, such as interviews, internships, job shadow programs, career/job fairs, and more. The goal is to help students make the best possible impression and feel confident during a professional meeting without having to worry about how to afford it. Attending Homecoming? Then clean out your closet! Bring your suits, dress pants, dress skirts, dress shirts and blouses, and neckties and bowties. Items may be dropped off outside Rm 108 in the Ceddia Union Building (CUB).

Ship Cares!

Each year, the Activities Programming Board (APB) gives proceeds collected from Homecoming events to a community outreach organization. For 2019, APB will provide donations to the Shippensburg Produce and Outreach (SPO). SPO distributes produce and other fresh items every Tuesday reaching a total of over 600 families each month in the Shippensburg community. SPO also participates in outreach programs throughout the Shippensburg Area School District.

SU Students
Ship students - Blast-off into the Homecoming week with a variety of food, snacks, and activities-including a virtual simulator and more at the CUB Festival inside the CUB Great Hall from 11AM - 3PM.

Annual SU Lip Sync Battle
Come to the annual Lip Sync Battle kicking off at 9PM in Memorial Auditorium, with performance by the SU Marching Band Drumline, the Elite Modeling Troupe, and the In-Motion Dance Troupe. Monetary donations collected at the door to benefit the 2019 Homecoming community outreach organization.

Athletic Hall of Fame Awards Luncheon.

The SU Athletic Hall of Fame has recognized many outstanding athletes who have gone on to distinguish themselves later in life. Please join us in recognizing our 2019 SU Athletic Hall of Fame Class. For tickets, email or call 717-477-1711.

ShipServes: Volunteer with Alumni at the King's Kettle Food Pantry
4:00PM - 30 N. Fayette St., Shippensburg
Alumni, students, and staff will meet to stock shelves at the pantry. Canned goods and other non-perishable food items will be accepted.

Food Truck Festival and Games
5:00PM - 8:00PM along Cumberland Dr, and outside at the Ceddia Union Building (CUB) amphitheatre.
All are welcome to enjoy our Homecoming festival celebration.There will be food trucks, inflatables, giant board games, and musical entertainment. Bring cash for food truck purchases-not all food trucks take credit. Students will be given wristbands for first food truck item. Stay for the fireworks display! The awesome fireworks display is immediately after the festival at 8PM. Festival rain location: ShipRec

The Alumni Relations Office welcomes alumni returning for Homecoming. Pick up your schedule of activities, campus map, and your proud Ship alumni goodies. Cash bar and lite menu items available for purchase at their lobby bar.

Immediately after the Homecoming festival, watch the fireworks display on the lawn outside the Seavers and Naugle Residence halls or from the Courtyard by Marriott front or back patio. Note: Lancaster Dr. that extends from the Luhrs Performing Arts Center to the Courtyard Marriott is closed during the fireworks.

Ship is It SILENT Party

Join us for a new experience in the CUB multi-purpose room, sponsored by the Multicultural Student Affairs Diversity Coalition. This Silent Disco will have attendees dancing to their choice of music on wireless headphones.

Divine Nine Alumni - Ship needs your help! Sign up to volunteer at the Raider Ready Professional Dress Closet (RRPDC). Divine Nine Sororities and Fraternities Alumni Reunion
10:00AM – Glass Lounge, Ceddia Union Building
Nine historically Black Greek letter organizations make up the National Pan-Hellenic Council. Collectively, these organizations are referred to as “The Divine Nine.” Members of the service fraternities Alpha Phi Alpha, Kappa Alpha Psi, Omega Psi Phi, Phi Beta Sigma, and Iota Phi Theta; and sororities Alpha Kappa Alpha, Delta Sigma Theta, Zeta Phi Beta, and Sigma Gamma Rho are invited to reunion together. Enjoy a continental breakfast catching up with friends before moving to the tailgate zone and football game.

Tailgate with the Alumni Association under the Red and Blue Alumni tent. Pick up your Ship alumni goodies, register for door prizes, and enjoy complimentary hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, and soft beverages (while supplies last). Reconnect with academic departments and student organizations in the tent tailgate area. Be prepared - Review the tailgate policy online.

Immediately following the football game, join President Laurie Carter for a casual picnic supper on the Martin House lawn. JOSH GATES Live! An Evening of Ghosts, Monsters, and Tales of Adventure - 7:30PM at the Luhrs Performing Arts Center. Tickets: $75, $55, $45, & $35

The show takes viewers around the world and off the map for thrilling investigations into history's most iconic legends and thrilling archaeological mysteries. 2019 Homecoming Step Show
8:00PM, Memorial Auditorium
Whether you're a regular attendee of this annual event or this will be your first Step Show, you will not want to miss out! Attend this explosive performance to watch the step groups battle it out on the stage. Stepping is a form of percussive dance in which the entire body is used as an instrument to produce complex rhythms and sounds through a mixture of footsteps, spoken word, and hand claps. Doors open at 7:30PM. $8.00/Alumni payable at the door.

Parking Lot Rules for behind Seth Grove Stadium

  • One parking space per vehicle.
  • No saving of parking spaces. Wish to tailgate together? -Arrive together.
  • Parking behind Seth Grove is for cars only, no trailers or pull behinds; Refer to the tailgate policy for RV parking information.
  • Lot opens to vehicles at 10AM
  • Only lawful consumption of alcohol is permitted. Underage drinking is unlawful and violators will be cited.

The Alumni Relations Office sponsors hot dogs, hamburgers and soft beverages (while supplies last) under the red and blue alumni tent. Stop by to pick up your free Shippensburg University alumni giveaways, register for door prizes, and update your alumni information. Enjoy the DJ and bring the family to enjoy the Fan Zone, Kids Tent, bounce house and more all behind Seth Grove Stadium.

Raider Tailgate Contest: Show your team spirit! Decorate your tailgate area displaying your Raider spirit. Judges will tour the tailgate areas beginning at 11:00AM. Winners will be notified at noon, so you can enjoy your prize!

Register your Academic Dept and Student Club: Tailgate spots may be requested by university departments and student clubs. These spots are located behind Seth Grove Stadium in the Fan Zone. This is a pedestrian lot. University academic departments should register for a spot thru the Alumni Office. Students requesting a group spot will request a spot with confirmation given after required training.

Registered Tailgate Groups: Check out the clubs, organizations, and departments that will be hosting tailgate spots behind Seth Grove Stadium. Locate them behind the stadium to say Hi!
