College Prep Cheer Clinic

The Shippensburg University College Prep Clinic is geared towards high school and college-aged cheerleaders looking to prepare to try-out for a collegiate cheerleading team. The goal of this clinic is to provide athletes with exposure to collegiate level cheerleading skills while mastering material they may already be working on. We will be having individual stunt, pyramid and tumbling sessions along with a Q&A with current SU Cheerleaders.

2026 Shippensburg University Football Prospect Camp

This camp is intended for all student-athletes who will be entering grades 10-12 this fall. College coaches from Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia will be represented. * Testing includes 185/225 Max Bench, 40-yard dash, Pro Agility and a Standing Broad Jump. With the exception of the bench press, all testing will be conducted at the stadium. Skill work follows testing in Offense, Defense and Special Teams.

Shippensburg University offers a wide array of residential, and commuter camps each summer for school-aged children. These camps include athletic, educational and recreational options. Campers work directly with our experienced coaches, student-athletes, faculty and staff during their time at Ship.
 
Additionally, campers have access to our state-of-the-art facilities, modern residence halls, and recreation spaces during their time at Ship.

For boys aged 9-17

All phases of the game of basketball that are necessary to develop an all-around player will be instructed during the camp by a professional staff. These phases will include but are not limited to ball handling, conditioning, cutting, defense, dribbling, fast break, footwork, jumping. Passing, rebounding, screening, shooting, and team play.

Field Hockey Overnight Camp

For girls grades 5-8

The 2026 5th-8th grade camp (NEW THIS YEAR!) is designed for beginner, intermediate and advanced level teams and individuals. This camp will improve your technical skill and tactical knowledge of the game, while having fun! This is an overnight camp. The 2026 Elite Field Hockey Team and Individual Camp is designed for intermediate to advanced level teams and individuals. This camp will challenge your technical skill, improve your tactical knowledge, and provide you an intense training camp that will help prepare you for hockey at the next level. Equipped with video analysis, this camp is not like other camps. You will receive the one-on-one feedback you need to grow your game. You will end your day learning about sports performance and how you can maximize your potential as an athlete.

Field Hockey Team and Individual Overnight Camp
July 23-25, 2026

For girls grades 7-12

The 2026 Field Hockey Team and Individual camp is open to teams and individuals. This overnight camp is packed with three sessions per day including skill sessions, small game sessions, 7v7 game play, goalkeeping specific training, and 11v11 play. Competition between teams is encouraged with games on and off the field. Leadership and teamwork are taught during off field seminars and team bonding occurs naturally in our amazing suite style lodging facilities.

Sprints and Hurdles Overnight Camp
July 12-15, 2026

For boys and girls grades 9-12

This camp is specifically designed for hurdlers and sprinters. The primary goal of the SU Sprints and Hurdles Camp is to assist each athlete in learning how to develop his/her athletic potential to their fullest extent. We will do this with a staff of outstanding coaches who will use the most recent teaching techniques in track and field. The camp will strive to improve each athlete’s skill level, mental toughness, flexibility and strength, and quickness/explosiveness. All participants will receive specific instruction on the events of his/ her choice. With the aid of video equipment and coaches, the athlete will be evaluated and then taught drills to improve his/her skill level.

Jumps Overnight Camp
July 19-22, 2026

For boys and girls grades 9-12

The primary goal of the SU Jumps Camp is to assist each athlete in learning how to develop his/her athletic potential as it pertains to high jump, long jump, triple jump, and pole vault. We will accomplish this with a staff of outstanding coaches teaching the most up-to-date techniques involving each jump. There are two pole vault landing areas, three high jump aprons, two long jump runways and pits, and two triple jump runways and pits. Shippensburg University has hosted the PIAA State Championships for over twenty-five years.

Throws Overnight Camp
July 19-22, 2026

For boys and girls grades 9-12

This camp is a hands-on throwing camp. The SU Throws Camp is designed to be a throws-specific camp, which meets or exceeds the quality of all throws camps in the region. All aspects of the throwing events will be covered by using proper throwing techniques, including plyometrics, weight training, mental training, proper diet, and other aspects of throws-specific training. The SU Throws Camp provides throwers with high-level instruction, but on a more personal scale and a more reasonable cost. We have an excellent staff to student-athlete ratio that allows for an abundance of one-on-one interaction with the clinicians and staff.

Leaders in Training Camp (SCRC)
June 15-18, 2026

This camp is designed to mentor and guide youth entering 6th-12th grade and develop leadership skills. We will complete activities designed to challenge their teamwork and problem-solving skills, while still fostering and creating a sense of community among the group. The group will learn what it means to have a positive and active role in the community. We will be visited by community leaders to hear them speak about how they became leaders.

Each day, attendees will receive breakfast and lunch from Reisner Dining Hall. Throughout the day, there will be challenging activities that encourage individual and team growth. Guest speakers will be visiting each day to talk about leadership.

SU Recreation Sports Camp
June 8-12, 2026

Rec Sports Youth Camp is for youth ages 8-14 or rising 3rd graders through 8th graders. Throughout the week campers will be introduced to both traditional, and non-traditional sports such as soccer, basketball, dodgeball, table tennis, ultimate frisbee, street hockey, disc golf and more! Campers will also have opportunities to engage in leadership, team building activities, get out on the 13-mile rail trail, and more.

Housing
Suites Available for Camps and Clinics
Halls are available with both shared and private bedrooms, and common lounge areas. All halls are secured and only accessible through a card access system. Every room comes with furnishings such as adjustable beds, desks, chairs, dressers, and blinds. Camps must provide their own bed linens, pillows, and towels.

Dining

Campers dine in our all-you-care-to-eat dining hall, Reisner Dining Hall. This location serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Residential campers have access to all three mealtimes. Commuter campers can enjoy lunch as part of their camp fee, but are welcome to enjoy breakfast or dinner at an additional cost. Reisner provides for special dietary requirements, including allergies, vegetarian/vegan and gluten free options.

The Shippensburg University Police Department is responsible for campus security and police services. The department is comprised of full-time officers trained and certified under PA Act 120 (Municipal Police Officers Education and Training Commission). Every residence hall is equipped with an automatic smoke and heat detection system and fire sprinkler systems.
