GESO: Geography and Earth Science Organization
GESO is a group supported by the Geography Earth Science Department, however this club is open to all majors and disciplines at the University.This club is dedicated to getting students together for Geography and Earth Science educational experiences.
GESO schedules trips throughout the semester such as hiking, camping, Geocaching, and other outdoor activities. Other activities involve volunteer work such as clean-ups.
Alternative Spring Break
The group also takes an annual volunteer weekend trip in Wallops Island, VA at the Chincoteague Bay Field Station to work on beach restoration with a variety of projects, such as planting riparian buffers and creating oyster habitat.
