Opportunities for Chemistry Students After Graduation

Currently in demand, chemistry majors can expect a wide variety of career choices with good salaries and low unemployment rates. Immediately after graduation, approximately half of our students enter industry, business, or government agencies where employment usually involves laboratory testing or research.

Our graduates become gainfully employed or become graduate students in various programs to pursue advanced degrees. Many of our students attend graduate school with the remainder finding jobs primarily within the state of Pennsylvania.

Internship and job opportunities can be found through the American Chemical Society's website.

Ship’s Career Center is also a great resource for professional career development, even after you graduate.

If you are a Shippensburg University chemistry graduate and would like to update your information or tell us how you are doing, please email chem@ship.edu.
