The Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with an Applied Math Concentration program prepares you to develop innovations that advance industry and improve business performance in today’s data-driven marketplace.

New applications of mathematics are constantly being discovered. Established mathematical and statistical techniques are applied to emerging fields and new problems every day, creating a wide variety of career opportunities.

To prepare you to solve real-life problems, this program builds on a solid mathematics core with additional coursework from:

  • Mathematical modeling
  • Differential equations
  • Data science
  • Mathematical biology
  • Numerical analysis
  • Mathematical interest theory

We encourage you to complete a minor in a discipline in which mathematics is applied, such as business, computer science or economics.

Outside of the classroom, you are encouraged to pursue research projects with faculty mentors. Projects can be based around any mathematical idea or problem that interests you.

You may also network, pursue leadership opportunities and boost your resume by getting involved with student organizations like:

  • Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics
  • Kappa Mu Epsilon Mathematics Honor Society
