Advanced Qualtrics Training
The Institutional Research and Assessment Office provides advanced training of Qualtrics to campus and on appointment when needed.

Psychometrics Training
Friday, February 28, 2020 2:00-3:00PM Lehman Library
Interim Director of Institutional Research and Assessment presented the training which covered the basic theoretical constructs of psychometrics and practical applications for measurement. The University Assessment Committee sponsored this training.
Calibration Training with Administrative Units
December 12, 2019
The purpose of this training is to teach new University Assessment Committee members how to review an assessment report and provide feedback to the program or unit. By doing so, this will help ensure the reviews of assessment reports are consistent and accurate with current Shippensburg practices.
This training will teach the audience how to:
- become familiar with the evaluation tool (rubric)
- use a rubric to rate a program or unit assessment report and their assessment processes
- provide meaningful feedback to the program or unit
Introduction to Qualtrics Training
Shippensburg University acquired the surveying tool, Qualtrics, during the Fall 2019 semester. The Institutional Research and Assessment Office provides introductory training to the entire campus and by appointment when needed.

Promoting Faculty Engagement in Assessment
November 8, 2019, 1:00 to 3:00pm, Lehman Library
Dr. Amy May, Assistant Professor in the Human Communication Studies department, brings to campus as assessment consultant, Dr. Cheri Simonds, whose area of focus is assessing the basic course and promoting faculty engagement.
Advanced Assessment Workshops
September 16 - 17, 2019
Guest speakers Drs. Vann Newkirk and Malinda Swoope, along with Shippensburg's Dr. Wendy Kubasko, presented a two-day advanced assessment workshop for faculty members, non-academic unit directors, and assessment coordinators regarding student learning outcomes assessment (Sept 16) and administrative unit assessment (Sept 17). Presentation topics included understanding the assessment process, the basics of creating an assessment plan, how Alabama A&M used assessment for resource allocation and educational effectiveness, how SU's Educational Leadership department is using assessment for educational effectiveness, and how to use assessment results for program or unit improvement.

Assessment workshop with Dr. Vann Newkirk
June 26 – 27, 2019
The team convened to bring work under one umbrella and hold a pilot training for non-academic units. The goal was to provide assessment guidance (nonacademic assessment workshop). Dr. Vann Newkirk, Fisk University Provost and assessment expert, was on campus June 26-27 to meet with the Institutional Effectiveness Team and hold a pilot workshop with the Strategy division. Organizers were the Institutional Effectiveness Team members. Presentations and documents from the event can be found below.
