Youth Discovery Camp in Construction is a program designed for high school students to attend a 5-day overnight camp exploring construction trades through hands-on experiences, virtual reality and industry site visits.

Open to rising high school sophomores through graduating seniors.

  • Engage in hands-on experience in the areas of carpentry, electrical and plumbing on-site at the Franklin County Career and Technology Center.

  • Investigate specific areas of interest in the construction industry through virtual reality (VR).

  • Explore various career possibilities in construction from industry professionals.

Campers who attend the full program will receive work boots, a tool belt loaded with tools, and more!

The Youth Discovery Camp in Construction provides high students with the opportunity to explore career possibilities within the construction industry through a variety of mediums. Participants will work along industry professionals for hands-on experience, talk to professionals in the construction industry to learn possible career pathways and utilize virtual reality technology to explore individual interests within the industry.

Through a partnership with the PA CareerLink participants will explore a broad range of construction industry careers beyond the hands-on experiences held at FCCTC.
