New students will complete components of the orientation program in three parts. These components will assist you in your transition to Ship while providing just in time information as you prepare to begin this Spring. Part I – Discover Ship! Online Orientation Experience:All new students will have the chance to explore campus resources at their own pace through an online orientation experience. This program will include information that will assist with you with your academic and personal success at Ship. All new students will be required to complete this portal before the beginning of the spring semester. You can access your online experience by logging in with their Ship email and password at https://orientation.ship.edu/.
Part II - New Student Orientation:All new students (first-year & transfer students) are required to attend an orientation program. During this program you will participate in small group discussions with Student Ambassadors/Peer Anchors and your peers to foster new friendships and connections. Additionally, you will learn about the First-Year Experience/Transferring to Ship and academic expectation. Save the Date: Friday, Janaury 19, 2024
Part III: Welcome Weekend (January 19th-21st)Welcome Weekend is a continuation of orientation to help new students adjust to life at Ship and continue to make connections. We have a great weekend planned for you to engage with your classmates and adjust to life on campus. Participating in these activities is a great way to meet new Shipmates and have some fun before the semester starts. We highly encourage all new students to attend especially those living on campus. Students will register to attend events when they register for Spring Orientation. |

Discover Ship! Online Orientation ExperienceParents/families will have the chance to explore campus resources further like their student at their own pace through an online orientation experience. This program will include information that will assist you in helping your student succeed academically and personally. This orientation will take approximately three hours. You can go through at your own speed and take a break at any time. When you come back, we'll remember where you left off. Parents and family members can access the portal by creating a guest account at https://orientation.ship.edu/. Parent/Family Orientation:Parents and families are highly encouraged to attend an orientation with your student. During orientation, you will connect with faculty, staff, and administrators to learn more about the resources, support, and engagement opportunities available to your student. Parent and families will register for orientation with their student. |
