Congratulations on confirming! Your confirmation checklist on your Admissions Account will have your next steps to help you prepare for a successful transition to Ship.

Your Ship e-mail account is the official communication method for the university. Activation instructions can be found in the Admissions Account. Be sure to check often so you don't miss out on exciting updates from the university!

If you haven't visited campus, schedule to attend an Open House or register for a Raider Day Visit. You can also schedule one-on-one Zoom sessions with a counselor or a transfer counselor if you are a transfer student, or visit Ship in Spanish (YouTube - La Universidad de Shippensburg tiene una presentación completamente en español).

  • Ship’s Federal School Code: 003326
  • PA residents: May 1 is the deadline for PA State Grant availability.

  • Log into your Admissions Account, click Apply for Scholarships to apply for SU Foundation scholarships.
  • Don’t forget to check out the PASSHE Foundation for additional scholarship opportunities at PASSHE Scholarships Search.

Orientation

All new students (first-year and transfer students) must attend an in-person orientation program. During this program, you will participate in small group discussions with Orientation Leaders and your peers to foster new friendships and connections. Additionally, you will learn about the First-Year Experience/Transferring to Ship, meet faculty in your program, and understand academic expectations and requirements.

Placement Testing

At Shippensburg University, our goal is to help you succeed, and part of accomplishing this goal is placing you into courses that develop the skills you need. We will use these results to better determine which courses are best for you. If you are an incoming student that is required to take a placement test, you will have a checklist item in your Admissions Status portal. If you do not see this checklist item, you are not required to complete any placement activities.
