The Institute for Social Inclusion 

The Institute for Social Inclusion advances and supports activities that promote social inclusion of vulnerable populations such as people with disabilities, people of color, LGBTQ populations, the elderly, children and youth, women, migrant populations, people in poverty and so on, through research, training, and development of demonstration models.

INSINC is interdisciplinary in nature. It provides a supportive environment to faculty of different departments at Shippensburg University engaged in research, policy and program development by providing assistance and promoting their work through conferences, publications and other appropriate venues. INSINC provides an opportunity to students to participate in research and training sessions. The Institute contributes to the social and human services workforce by organizing professional development workshops or series both on University premises and in the wider community. To promote the concept of social inclusion, the Institute develops and/or supports programs that serve as models of practice that cultivate and encourage it. The focus of the activity of INSINC is local, regional, national and international.

The membership of the Institute consists of faculty of Shippensburg University who are dedicated to the issues of social inclusion.
