 Conference 2018 Information and Registration


Conference Schedule


This year’s conference will be held in the Ceddia Union Building (CUB), 408 Lancaster Drive Shippensburg PA, 17257 at the Shippensburg University campus. The one day conference will run from approximately 8:30am-4:00pm on Friday April 13, 2018. 

Keynote Speaker 

Aneesah S. Smith 


Aneesah Smith is a Queer, Christian, Cisgender, woman of color who is OUT and proud in all aspects of her life. She is a proud graduate of West Chester University (WCU), obtaining a B.S. in Health Education and M.S. in Counseling/Higher Education. Currently she is a national speaker, activist and social justice educator who inspires those she meets to live OUT loud. Her purpose in life is to use her story to save lives, her passion to raise awareness through education and her privilege to uplift the voices of the oppressed. Recently, she served for 5 phenomenal years as the Director of LGBTQA Services at her alma mater WCU. Her presentations and keynote speeches have been featured at a variety of conferences including; Creating Change, NASPA, Mid Atlantic LGBT Conference and the Philadelphia Trans Health Conference. She is also a faculty member for the Campus Pride – Advisor Academy, where she leads a weeklong camp for collegiate advisors who serve LGBTQ students. She just recently served as one of the four elected co-chairs for the National Creating Change Conference on LGBTQ Equality which was held in her home city of Philadelphia. When she is not out changing the world, Aneesah enjoys baking gourmet cupcakes, playing Pokémon cards with her 10 year old son Avery and enjoying beach time with her fiancée Surera.


Registration and Conference Fees

Students: $15 - (Students may be eligible for scholarships) 

For student registration please send an e-mail to: with the subject "Conference Registration" and your major/minor. 

The conference fee covers an all-day conference at Shippensburg University including a continental breakfast, a lunch featuring a round table discussion, keynote speaker Aneesah Smith, and the cost of professionals seeking Continuing Education Credits. (This conference will offer 5 CEU's for attending the entire conference) 

Payment before the conference may be submitted online at the time of registration using a credit card or E-check through the online processor, Official Payments, through the Professional, Continuing, and Distance Education Office (PCDE). Mastercard, Discover, American Express and Visa are accepted. To make a payment directly from your bank account, choose "Bank Account" option to pay with E-check where there will be no service fee.

Payment may also be made the day of the conference by cash or check ONLY during the registration time outside of Orndorff Theatre in the CUB.

Otherwise, you can print your e-mail confirmation and mail it along with a check made payable to Shippensburg University and mailed to Professional, Continuing, and Distance Education, Shippensburg University, Horton Hall 106, 1871 Old Main Drive, Shippensburg University, 17257.

 *Note: You must pre-register before you can attend or present at the conference! 

Hotel Arrangements

The Courtyard Marriott at Shippensburg is offering a rate of $83 per night plus 9% sales tax for INSINC Conference presenters. Presenters will need to provide their own form of payment for room arrangements, and rooms need to be booked at least one month prior to stay. Conference Accessibility and Accommodations

On the day of the conference parking assigned for the conference will be lots C-6 and C-7, if you are attending or presenting, please park in one of these two lots. See below for the link to a campus accessibility map.

Individuals in need of easier access to the conference may park in any of the handicapped spots located on the side of the Ceddia Union Building (CUB). When entering the campus from Prince Street, bear right onto Adams Drive, then take a left onto Cumberland Drive. At the next stop, turn left onto Bucks Drive. The CUB will be located on your left. Take the first left for access to handicapped and visitor parking (the lot is in front of the UPS store). A ramp is available from the parking lot to the first floor entrance to the CUB. Upon entering, take an immediate left to the elevator which will take you to the 2nd floor of the building. The conference will be held in multi-purpose room (MPR), which is located just past the stair case, near the center of the 2nd floor.

For guests entering from Cumberland Drive, there will be two entrances to the CUB. The entrance on your right, looking at the front of the Ceddia Union Building will lead you directly into the CUB and into the Orndorff Theatre lobby and registration desk. Following registration, guests will be directed into the Orndorff Theatre behind registration.
