The Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with a Statistics Concentration program prepares you to be a key player on a wide variety of multidisciplinary teams in every corner of business, industry, and government.
The fastest growing sectors in the mathematical sciences are all related to statistics and data. There is an increasing prevalence of data in every corner of business, industry and government.
In this concentration, you must take:
- Mathematics major core courses
- A two-semester sequence in applied statistics
- A two-semester sequence in theoretical probability and statistics
You also have access to electives in data science techniques that emphasize computer programming and data visualization.
If you are interested in actuarial sciences, you are encouraged to take additional electives in business and finance.

Outside of the classroom, you are encouraged to pursue research projects with faculty mentors. Projects can be based around any mathematical idea or problem that interests you.
