Music and Theatre Arts Facilities

Shippensburg University has great facilities that Music and Theatre Arts Department students regularly use for classes, performances and student group activities.

H. Ric Luhrs Performing Arts Center

The H. Ric Luhrs Performing Arts Center is home to the Music and Theatre Arts Department. The building itself houses classrooms, rehearsal rooms and the Grove Theatre. The theatre is equipped with state-of-the-art lighting, audio equipment, and video and projection equipment. With a seating capacity of approximately 1,500 tiered seats, it is one of the largest performing arts centers in the region. The Luhrs Center hosts performances by Shippensburg University students as well as nationally-known speakers, musicals, comedians, bands, and more throughout the year.

Memorial Auditorium

Memorial Auditorium provides a performance space for students, faculty, staff, and community members. It is home to annual events such as musicals, plays, and dance troupe showcases. The auditorium can seat 650 guests.
