In addition to submitting your responses to the application below, please be sure to send us your cover letter and resume. Students applying for a Field Position should include at least one reference from someone who has supervised your clinical work. Completed applications within the designated timelines will receive first consideration. Please use this as a guide when applying for a training position. *Priority will be given to those students whose career goals are most related to the training opportunities provided (e.g. college counseling), whose knowledge, awareness, and skills are most suitable to the UCC services, and who are able to commit to working at the UCC for an academic year.

For those seeking Graduate Assistant experiences: 

  • Please describe and rate yourself on the following skills: oral communication (public speaking, outreach, presentation, etc.), written communication (business letters, reports, creative writing, publicity, public relations, etc.), computer skills (word processing, desktop publishing, data entry/ data base programs, communication programs, web publishing, etc.).

For those seeking supervised clinical training experiences (Field): 

  • Describe your current philosophy and/or theory of the counseling process.
  • Describe a meaningful experience in which you learned something about yourself that you had not recognized before. Relate what that experience was like for you.
