Shippensburg University’s Veteran Verification Process
Shippensburg University’s Veterans Affairs Office certifies enrollment for undergraduate and graduate students who are eligible for veterans’ education benefits. After you’ve decided that you would like to use your veterans education benefits. Please fill out the below forms for the appropriate term and email them back to vetaffairs@ship.edu. We process forms as they are received. As a reminder, if the number of credits your taking changes at any point in time, you must notify our office immediately.

Twelve credits are required to be considered a full-time undergraduate by the Veterans Administration. In addition to regular sources of financial aid, veterans and dependents of veterans may be eligible for VA education benefits. Benefit programs may be reviewed at www.gibill.va.gov.
Fall 2024
For current students: Summer and Fall enrollment certificate request forms and/or TA forms are due by May 01, 2024.
For incoming students: Summer and Fall enrollment certificate request forms and/or TA forms are due by July 15, 2024.

Please note new students must submit a Certificate of Eligibility from the VA, this process can take weeks - so please work on that as soon as you are able.

In State Tuition
Out-of-state students may qualify for in-state tuition rates if they meet the criteria defined in the Choice Act of 2014 and the PA House Bill 804. The term “resident” or “residency,” or any other term or expression used to designate a Commonwealth resident student, when used to determine the rate of tuition to be charged students attending public institutions of higher learning shall be construed to mean and include any veterans, their spouses and dependent children who do not currently reside in Pennsylvania. The term shall also be construed to mean and include military personnel [or their dependents], their spouses and dependent children who are assigned to an active-duty station in Pennsylvania and who reside in Pennsylvania and any civilian personnel [or their dependents], their spouses and dependent children employed at a Department of Defense facility who are transferred to Pennsylvania by the Department of Defense and who reside in Pennsylvania.
At the time of your application, Shippensburg University's Admissions Office will review residency statuses. Additional documentation may be requested for out-of-state students.
