Description of Violation: Allegation of potential hazing reported to the Office of Student Conduct & Community Standards.
Investigation Findings: It was reported that the Shippensburg University Marching Band new members were required to participate in a scavenger hunt to find band leadership at night. After investigation, the allegation was deemed unfounded.

Description of Violation: Allegation of potential hazing reported to the Office of Student Conduct.
Investigation Findings: It was reported that members of Kappa Beta Gamma were allegedly engaging in hazing activities by forcing them to drink alcohol and crawl around on the floor blindfolded. After investigation, the allegation was deemed unfounded.

Organization: Alpha Kappa Psi Business Fraternity
Date Violation Charged*: March 22, 2022
Description of Violation: Charged with violating the University's Anti-Hazing Policy.
Investigation Findings: Alpha Kappa Psi Business Fraternity was found to have violate the University's policy by creating a stituation of imbalanced power dynamics by asking new members to complete a "prank tradition" which resulted in subsequent policy violations for the organization and members.
Sanctions: Alpha Kappa Psi Business Fraternity is on probation until December 18, 2022. Additionally, all members must complete a hazing prevention education program in the fall 2022 semester and partner with their national headquarters (who supported this investigation) on implementing their "Bridge to Brotherhood" program and to utilize at least 1 of those workshops. Alpha Kappa Psi Business Fraternity took responsiblity for the violations and waived a hearing.

Sanctions: Alpha Kappa Psi was placed on probation until April 11, 2020. Additionally, they were required to create a new member education plan, send at least two members to sit on the Shippensburg University Anti-Hazing Task Force, and to participate and help plan Anti-Hazing initiatives for the 2019-2020 academic year.

Additionally, they were required to create a new member education plan, send at least two members to sit on the Shippensburg University Anti-Hazing Task Force, and to participate and help plan Anti-Hazing initiatives for the 2019-2020 academic year.

Organization: Theta Xi Fraternity
Date Violation Charged*: January 31, 2019
Description of Violation: Charged with violating the University's Antihazing Policy.
Investigation Findings: Thirty-three Theta Xi fraternity members were found in violation of the University’s Policy on Hazing. Theta Xi Fraternity hosted a date party where new members were mandated to wear uniform dress, act as designated drivers, and sober brothers (setting up for the party, serving as bartenders, cleaning up after the party).
Sanctions: Theta Xi Fraternity was placed on probation until December 13, 2019. Every member of the fraternity was required to complete the Connection Alcohol and Other Drug Education Program. Theta Xi was responsible for creating responsible host and risk management policies that were due to the university on April 1, 2019. Theta Xi members were also required to participate and help plan Anti-Hazing Education initiatives through the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life for the 2019-2020 academic year.
