Transition, Integration, and Engagement (TIE)
Transition, Integration, and Engagement (TIE) is a mentor program designed by the John L. Grove College of Business to aid transfer students as they transition to Shippensburg University. Transfer students are paired with a volunteer student mentor during their first semester at Shippensburg University. TIE mentors are students who have successfully transitioned to Shippensburg University as a transfer student and have a desire to help guide their peers to learn about and engage in the academic and social environments of Shippensburg University. TIE mentors serve as a point of contact to help answer basic questions and to point students in the right direction for finding answers. Participation in activities such as student professional and social organizations is promoted with in the Grove College of Business to encourage engagement and enhance our student’s overall college experience. Mentors serve as a resources for their partnered students to help them identify clubs, organizations, and activities that fit their individual interests to enable them to successfully develop networking, leadership, and other skills which are critical to success in the job market.
