Profile
Bernard Showers, LCSW, CAADC is a 2010 graduate of Shippensburg University's MSW Program. He has been practicing as a Social Worker since 2012 with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) in Baltimore, MD, working in a number of different roles within his specialty of substance use disorders.

In addition to his clinical roles, Bernard is a national consultant for the Department of Veterans Affairs' (VA) Evidence-Based Psychotherapy Initiatives in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy for Substance Use Disorders, Motivational Interviewing, and Motivational Enhancement Therapy. He is a certified VA provider for Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy for Depression, having received his training from the Beck Institute in Philadelphia, PA. As a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers, Bernard has provided a number of local, regional, and national trainings.

Professional Interests
Teri has been counseling individuals since 1993 and has been licensed in Indiana, Texas, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania. Teri uses an eclectic approach to therapy and is trained in EMDR, which is her favorite treatment modality. She opened her solo practice in 2017 and specializes in trauma and bereavement. She has experience with inpatient psychiatric social work, partial hospitalization programs, as well as outpatient psychotherapy. This is her first time teaching at the college level.

Professional Interests
Department Manager for the Organizational Effectiveness (OE) Department at University of Pittsburgh, School of Social Work, Child Welfare Resource Center. She is responsible for supporting training and technical assistance efforts across Pennsylvania to help child welfare agencies strengthen their services for children, youth, and families. Wendy has over 25 years of experience providing child welfare and social work services. Prior to becoming the Department Manager for OE, Wendy was a Practice Improvement Specialist and a Unit Lead at the Resource Center. Wendy’s experience also includes work at a county child welfare agency, the Pennsylvania Department of Health, adjunct professor positions, and involvement in her community including Collaborating for Youth, school committees, and youth suicide prevention efforts.
