Artificial Intelligence Concentration
| Apply | Tuition and Fees |
This is an interdisciplinary concentration that combines artificial intelligence courses in our department with courses from other disciplines that are foundations on which the field of AI is based. The computer science courses focus on the fundamental algorithms that underlie AI, while the interdisciplinary courses explore the biologic aspects that influence AI and tools used in AI. Identified skills for students in this concentration include:
- The ability to solve difficult problems and implement solutions to those problems
- Experience working together as a team
- Learning fundamental algorithms of AI (e.g., search and planning) and applying them to a variety of problems.
- Studying a variety of machine learning techniques (e.g., neural nets, support vector machines) and applying them to real-world problems.
- Applying AI techniques to the analysis of large data sets (data mining).
- Strengthening programming skills.
