Celebrating our Ship Family
Shippensburg University understands the important role that families play in their students’ lives and educational success. We are excited to welcome you to campus and share the day with your student.
During our Ship Family Day, you will:
- Connect with other family members
- Meet the university president and other representatives
- Engage with and learn more about the university resources available to your student
- Enjoy games, activities, and crafts for the whole family
All events are free, except Test Kitchen, which is $5 and space is limited.

Pick-up a schedule and map, ask questions, and get information about the day. - Family Scavenger Hunt

Various Campus Locations
Complete a photo scavenger hunt across campus for a chance to win a prize! See registration desk for more details. - Family T-Shirt Sale

Purchase a Shippensburg t-shirt designed specifically for this day! Shirts are $20 each and come in sizes small through 3XL, while supplies last. Only cash sales or PayPal will be accepted on Ship Family Day. - Donuts with Deans and Department Chairs

Grab a donut and great conversation while you mingle with our Academic Deans and Department Chairs. Feel free to ask them anything—and everything—about Ship. This event is free, however, please pre-register.

Be a part of a Ship tradition which honors the past and present and celebrates your family legacy at Ship! Shippensburg alumni parents, grandparents, and aunts/uncles of currently enrolled students are invited to attend a special Legacy Pinning Ceremony with the President and the Alumni Association Board of Directors to welcome current students into the Ship family. Multicultural Student Affairs (MSA) is a home away from home for many Ship students. Gilbert is an inclusive, student-centered place that builds leaders and scholars who are prepared to excel on a global stage. MSA invites families to become partners in their students’ journey. Become involved in the MSA Parent Partnership Program (PPP) and connect with other families, students, alumni, and staff. Our PPP theme is “If not us, then who? If not now, then when?
