Transfer to Shippensburg University

We’re ready to help you learn, grow and share your talents with the world.

Preferred Admissions

We evaluate your application and compute your cumulative GPA based on all work above developmental level attempted at accredited institutions.

A minimum college GPA of 2.0 and more than 12 course credits is preferred for admission. Students transferring with less than 12 college-level credits need to submit:

  • high school transcript(s)
  • official college transcript(s)

An admissions decision will be based on all criteria. Please note there is a $45 application fee.

Some majors require pre-requisites or minimum GPA

Applying to Transfer

Complete an online application now.

Shippensburg University has rolling admissions and you can apply any time before the semester starts. It is recommended that you complete your application:

  • By December 1 for the Spring semester
  • By August 1 for the Fall semester

Space is limited in some majors and applying early is the best way to ensure a seat in your degree program. For some majors such as Criminal Justice, Business and Elementary Education, transfer students are encouraged to apply as early as a year in advance.

Application review takes 1-3 weeks after receiving all required application materials. The Admissions Office will notify you by e-mail once a decision has been made. You can also check your Application Status online.
