Preferred Admissions
We evaluate your application and compute your cumulative GPA based on all work above developmental level attempted at accredited institutions.
A minimum college GPA of 2.0 and more than 12 course credits is preferred for admission. Students transferring with less than 12 college-level credits need to submit:
- high school transcript(s)
- official college transcript(s)
An admissions decision will be based on all criteria. Please note there is a $45 application fee.
Some majors require pre-requisites or minimum GPA
- Applicants who cannot be accommodated in the major of choice can be admitted as another major or defer admission until a later date.

Applying to Transfer

Shippensburg University has rolling admissions and you can apply any time before the semester starts. It is recommended that you complete your application:
- By December 1 for the Spring semester
- By August 1 for the Fall semester
Space is limited in some majors and applying early is the best way to ensure a seat in your degree program. For some majors such as Criminal Justice, Business and Elementary Education, transfer students are encouraged to apply as early as a year in advance.
Application review takes 1-3 weeks after receiving all required application materials. The Admissions Office will notify you by e-mail once a decision has been made. You can also check your Application Status online.
