Undergraduate Students

Undergraduate students enrolled at Shippensburg University may reside on campus during the summer term. Pre-registration for campus housing is requested, but housing will be available at check-in. Room assignments will be designated in the MyHousing portal in your myShip Experience accoount one week prior to check in. Roommate request can be submitted to the Housing Office by email at housing@ship.edu. Each student must request each other by email to be matched.
 
Students will be billed for housing after check-in if it was not previously added to the summer bill. Undergraduate summer students are required to carry a meal plan. Please contact the Student Accounts Office for Summer Fees and Billing Details.
 
Note: Students needing summer housing outside of the summer term can request by emailing Housing@ship.edu and will be billed a weekly rate.

Graduate Students

Current Graduate students enrolled in classes, internship, or working on campus may request to remain on campus throughout the summer. New incoming Graduate students who are enrolled for summer may move in before their summer courses begin. Housing and Residence Life will reach out to individuals registered for summer housing. Graduate students not taking courses until fall may move in during August move in. Housing will remain in Mowrey Hall.

Summer Intern Housing for Non-SU Students

Housing is available for non-Shippensburg University students/scholars from other institutions of higher education who are participating in an academic program, internship, or summer employment opportunity in the Shippensburg area (Franklin, Cumberland, Adams, Dauphin, Perry, or Washington Counties). Interns must be currently enrolled at another college or university and show proof of enrollment and employment as part of the application process. Interns must be at least 18 years of age to reside in University owned residence halls during the summer term.

Available Dates

Housing available dates to be announced for Summer 2026. Students will be housed in McCune Hall, a suite style residence hall, for the duration of the summer.

Cost and Amenities

Summer housing is $150 week and includes parking, access to residence hall amenities (i.e. common kitchen, game room, TV lounge, outdoor rec space), and free laundry and utilities, including wifi. Interns will be assigned to a single bedroom, but some may share a suite depending on availability. Interns that share a suite will still have their own lockable bedroom, but would share a common area and bathroom with someone of the same gender. If you have a suitemate request, please email indicate such on the application. Students may pay for the entire term ($1,800) or in two installments, the second one to be due at least two weeks before the second half of their stay. Payment is due in full 2 weeks before arrival to campus and can be paid by check. 

Additional Options

  • Dining - Meals are not included, but a meal punch card can be purchased from Reisner Dining Hall for $200 (25 meals).
  • Ship Rec - Interns can purchase a punch cards to access the rec center during their stay. Punch cards are $50 for 10 visits. Learn more about the Ship Rec here.
  • MicroChill - Interns are responsible for providing their own mini fridge and microwave, if they wish. A rental program is available based on length of stay. Please contact JSMilburn@ship.edu for details.
