GROUP FITNESS

 The Department of Recreation offers group fitness classes designed to provide participants with a variety of activity choices to meet all interests and fitness levels.

 

Group fitness classes will resume in the Fall 23 semester!

 

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

CARDIO KICKBOXING:  (Sponsored by the Chambersburg YMCA)

Kickboxing moves set to powerful music. Punch, jab, and kick your way to an upbeat intense full-body workout!

CONDITIONING CRAZE:

A 45-minute workout that focuses on interval and varied intensity training. This class uses both weighted and bodyweight movements to build strength and increase cardiovascular endurance.

CYCLE CRAZE:  Come get your sweat on with this high energy workout.  This class is designed to help you build endurance and strength through full body movements such as climbs, sprints, and choreographed directional.  Move to the best at your intensity level!

HIITBOXING: (Sponsored by the Chambersburg YMCA)

HIIT meets Kickboxing. It’s a 45 minute workout alternating between bursts of Kickboxing exercises and recovery completed in intervals

SPINNING: (Sponsored by ShipRec and the Chambersburg YMCA)

A comprehensive indoor cycling program. 

SPIN & SCULPT:

A 30 minute ride with 30 minutes of muscle / strength conditioning workout that adopts a HIIT and a strength training style . It involves alternating periods of high and low intensity movements while using hand weights and bands to build lean muscle . During the workout , all major muscle groups are targeted.

TRAMPOLINE!

Trampoline is an exciting twist to a cardio based workout class! We will be on individual trampolines doing a variety of different moves to improve strength and cardiovascular endurance.  

YOGA:  (Sponsored by New Day Yoga and Wellness, LLC.)

In just one hour you will stretch your muscles, build strength, find your balance, open your hips and enjoy some stillness. You will leave feeling refreshed and invigorated. This class follows the Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga methodology and is suitable for beginners and experienced yogis.

ZUMBA: 

Latin influenced dance style class that combines high energy moves and dance combinations that are designed to make your workout fun.  The routines feature aerobic/fitness interval training with a combination of fast and slow dance moves that tone and sculpt the body. Music genres include reggae, pop, hip-hop, cumbia, merengue and more!  No dancing experience is necessary.
