Communication Studies Speech and Communication Center

The Speech and Communication Center provides a wide array of academic support services to the Shippensburg community. Our mission is to empower student voices by helping students develop fundamental communication skills needed to ensure success regardless of discipline. 

Our coaches work one-on-one with students or in small groups to complete course assignments or prepare for an upcoming speech.  Each session is designed to meet the unique needs of the learner.  

We offer the following services to support student learning outcomes: 

• Topic selection and refinement 
• Research and citations 
• Content development 
• Practice and view 
• Visual aid preparation 
• Strategies for managing communication anxiety
