Civil Engineering

The Civil Engineering program prepares graduates for careers in a variety of civil engineering professions. Following the department's mission of providing a balance between theory and practice, students engage the theoretical and conceptual aspects of the program with hands-on experience using state-of-the-art tools and techniques. Mechanical Engineering

The Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering program prepares students for a wide variety of careers including the design and manufacturing of mechanical and, increasingly, electromechanical components and systems. To contact Mechanical Engineering directly, email mechengr@ship.edu.

ABET Accredited

Our program accreditation by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) lead to employers actively pursuing our graduates for hire locally, statewide and nationally. Shippensburg’s bachelor’s degrees in civil engineering, computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and software engineering are accredited by ABET.

Civil Engineering, BS

The Civil Engineering program allows student engineers to design and maintain infrastructure that supports communities, such as bridges and roads to water treatment systems. Ship’s ABET-accredited program combines engineering principles with real-world experience. It is the only civil engineering degree offered in the Pennsylvania State System, offering students access to both an affordable and high-quality education.

Mechanical Engineering, BS

Mechanical Engineering is one of the most in-demand career paths. Ship’s ABET-accredited program equips students with skills in system design, thermodynamics, robotics, and manufacturing. Students gain hands-on experience using top-notch design tools like CAD/CAM, rapid prototyping, and process simulation.
