Shippensburg University finance graduates (BSBA) obtain responsible positions in major corporations, profit and non-profit, and positions in a variety of major and regional banks and other financial institutions. This program focuses on the application of finance concepts. Required courses in applied analysis give you a real-world feeling for finance. The Learning Center
The Learning Center is the university's primary academic resource center and is free to all Ship students.
It provides a variety of services, including course-based tutoring, writing tutoring, and Learning Specialists. The Learning Center can help you review course material, enhance your writing knowledge, and improve your study skills. Our tutors are well-trained peers and our specialists are professional staff who know how to help you succeed. Whether you feel you need extra help or just want to extend your learning in a social environment, The Learning Center can help.
Career Center
The Career Center provides student/alumni-centered career and professional development programs, experiences, and learning opportunities to assist students to develop and achieve personal and professional goals. Career Center helps provide internships to students. Completing an internship provides excellent hands-on experience, boosts your resume, allows you to network with professionals, and may even lead to a job. Internships are highly recommended for all students and some programs of study even require them.
Business Internships
Ship has a well-established Business Internship Program, which started in 1972, that provides opportunities for on-the-job experience while gaining college credits. While participation is not mandatory, students earn one full credit hour to every equivalent of a 40-hour workweek they finish. Students can receive a maximum of 9 credits. Internship opportunities include family businesses, franchises, small businesses, and corporations where there is a need for entrepreneurial-minded individuals.
