Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania is committed to providing equal access and opportunity in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act. The University provides reasonable accommodations to qualified individuals with disabilities to ensure equal access to programs, services, activities, employment, and facilities.
A reasonable accommodation is a modification or adjustment that enables a qualified individual with a disability to have equal access to University programs, services, or employment opportunities.
Individuals seeking an accommodation are responsible for:
- Identifying themselves as a person with a disability when requesting an accommodation within a reasonable timeframe;
- Providing appropriate documentation from a licensed professional, when needed, to support the request; and
- Explaining how the disability creates a barrier to access or participation.
All medical and disability-related documentation will be kept confidential in accordance with ADA requirements.
