Application Process
While Shippensburg University reviews applications on a rolling basis, we strongly recommend that applicants who live outside the United States and its territories submit all application materials by the dates listed below prior to the semester in which you intend to enroll. Submitting your application early will give you sufficient time to obtain a visa in your country.
- Fall Semester — no later than June 15th
- Spring Semester – no later than November 1st
Summer enrollment for international students is not permitted.
After you apply, we urge you to frequently check your application status. If there are any missing materials, we will periodically notify you via email. You can also check your online status online.
If you live in the United States please follow the below deadlines for the semester you intend to enroll in.
- Fall Semester — no later than July 15th
- Spring Semester – no later than November 15th

Statement of Financial Support
Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania requires all international applicants who will be entering, or who has already entered the United States with an F-1 student visa to complete this Statement of Financial Support.
If you currently hold Permeant Residency and can provide proof of a green card or hold another non-immigrant status, you do not need to complete the Statement of Financial Support. Examples of such non-immigrant statuses include A, E, H or L visas or dependents of those on such visas – A-2, E-2, H-2 or L-2.

JFK Scholarship/Tuition Reduction Program for International Students
The JFK Scholarship is an award allocated specifically for undergraduate international students who are studying in the United States on F-1 student visas. The goal of the award is to provide financial assistance to international students while allowing them the opportunity to give back at Shippensburg University through interacting with Ship students and other volunteer opportunities.
JFK Awards are available for the Academic Year 2026-2027. Applicants should complete the application process prior to August 1 for Fall 2026 and December 1 for Spring 2027.
