The Entrepreneurship Hub at Kriner Hall serves the surrounding region as a dynamic coordinating point for entrepreneurship, innovation, and collaboration at Shippensburg University. By bringing together the Charles H. Diller Jr. Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership and Innovation, the Mr. and Mrs. Milton K. Morgan III Makerspace, and the Small Business Development Center, Ship has created a powerful entrepreneurial ecosystem where students, faculty, entrepreneurs, and community members can transform ideas into opportunities and opportunities into successful ventures.
With an emphasis on fostering innovation, education, and business development, the Entrepreneurship Hub is designed to make an impact far beyond the businesses and ventures launched within its walls. It is a place where ideas are tested, skills are developed, connections are made, and individuals are prepared to lead, innovate, and succeed in an ever-changing world.
Significant private and public investment in the university’s vision for entrepreneurship, innovation, and regional economic development made the transformation of Kriner Hall into Shippensburg University's Entrepreneurship and Innovation Hub possible. The project received $1 million through Pennsylvania’s Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) to support the renovation and redevelopment of Kriner Hall, with support from Pennsylvania State Senator Greg Rothman, 34th Senatorial District. Shippensburg University also received a $700,000 Community Project Funding grant, supported by Congressman John Joyce, MD, and administered through the US Department of Housing and Urban Development.
These investments were significantly enhanced by the generous support of benefactors and business leaders who recognized Kriner Hall's potential to serve as a catalyst for new ideas, new businesses, and economic opportunity. Together, this public and private support has transformed a historic campus building into a regional resource where students, entrepreneurs, innovators, and community partners can create, collaborate, and build for the future.
Kriner Hall has always been a place where the Ship community comes together. Dedicated in 1958 and affectionately known for decades as the “Kriner Diner,” it once nourished generations of students through shared meals and community. Today, that legacy continues in a new form, as Kriner Hall brings people together to nurture ideas, launch businesses, inspire innovation, and create new possibilities for Ship and business opportunities for the region and beyond.

The Diller Center cultivates creative thinking and collaboration, generating cutting-edge ideas and solutions. Here, students, faculty, and community members exchange ideas and the blend expertise, leading to breakthroughs that wouldn’t occur in isolation.
Mr. and Mrs. Milton K. Morgan III Makerspace
The Morgan Makerspace provides a space for prototyping and experimentation, allowing students to turn concepts into tangible products. Equipped witha variety of manufacturing equipment, students can rapidly design, test, and refine their ideas.
Shippensburg University Small Business Development Center (SBDC)
The SBDC offers no cost business expertise, mentorship, and resources to help navigate the complexities of launching and scaling a company. The center serves small businesses in Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, and York Counties.
