Kriner Hall serves the campus community and our region as an entrepreneurial and innovation hub. By co-locating the Charles H. Diller Jr. Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (Diller Center), Mr. and Mrs. Milton K. Morgan III Makerspace (Morgan Makerspace) and the Small Business Development Center (SBDC), Ship offers an ecosystem that enhances the ability to support students and community members as they turn their ideas into successful businesses.
With an emphasis on adaptability, resilience, and strategic thinking, this space will ensure its impact extends far beyond the businesses it helps launch, by shaping individuals who are prepared to lead in any context
Kriner Hall was originally dedicated in 1958 as the sole dining hall on campus. It was affectionatly known as Kriner Diner and for decades served family style meals to students. Kriner was closed as a dining hall in 2020 as student dining needs shifted.
In 2025, the university was awarded a $700,000 grand from US Housing and Urban Development in support of the renovation project. The grant was awarded with the support of Congressman John Joyce, MD. The project was also made possible through the support of generous benefactors and business leaders who saw the value in the mission of Kriner Hall project.

The Diller Center cultivates creative thinking and collaboration, generating cutting-edge ideas and solutions. Here, students, faculty, and community members exchange ideas and the blend expertise, leading to breakthroughs that wouldn’t occur in isolation.
Mr. and Mrs. Milton K. Morgan III Makerspace
The Morgan Makerspace provides a space for prototyping and experimentation, allowing students to turn concepts into tangible products. Equipped witha variety of manufacturing equipment, students can rapidly design, test, and refine their ideas.
Shippensburg University Small Business Development Center (SBDC)
The SBDC offers no cost business expertise, mentorship, and resources to help navigate the complexities of launching and scaling a company. The center serves small businesses in Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, and York Counties.
