Computer engineers are actively involved in the development of the next generation of computers, smartphones, and tables. Electrical Engineering
Students in this program will learn about the impact of engineering solutions in a global, economic, environmental, and social context. Graduates will have an ability to use techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary for engineering practice, and will engage in life-long learning to continue developing their skills and knowledge of the practice. Software Engineering
Software engineers develop software applications while focusing on delivering quality software that meets the customers’ needs. In addition to developing software applications, software engineers select and track the processes that will be used throughout the development of an application. ABET Accredited

Our program accreditation by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) lead to employers actively pursuing our graduates for hire locally, statewide and nationally. Shippensburg’s bachelor’s degrees in civil engineering, computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and software engineering are accredited by ABET.
Majors
Computer Engineering, BS
The Computer Engineering program combines electrical engineering and computer science, with a focus on preparing students to design, build, and program complex systems. Students who have completed coursework in physics, calculus, and logic circuits advance into studies of microprocessors, embedded systems, and digital signal design.
Electrical Engineering, BS
The Electrical Engineering program provides a practical and in-depth education in electronics, communications, and energy. Students gain both theoretical knowledge and applied design skills, preparing them for a wide range of industries such as telecommunications, renewable energy, and automation.
Software Engineering, BS
Shippensburg’s Software Engineering program prepares students to develop and maintain large-scale software systems, combining computer science knowledge with a focus on software development. Unlike traditional computer science programs, it focuses on systematic processes such as designing, testing, and maintaining scalable software.
