If you are planning to transfer to Shippensburg University, please take the following steps to transfer your financial aid:
1. Notify the registrar and the financial aid office at your prior school that you will not be returning.
2. Update your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) with Shippensburg University’s federal school code 003326.
3. The U.S. Department of Education selects students to be reviewed in a process called Federal Verification. For students who are selected, it is necessary for the Financial Aid Office to collect documentation in order to confirm the accuracy of the information reported on the FAFSA.
If your FAFSA has been selected for verification, you will be notified of this in your Ship email.
For ACCEPTED STUDENTS click on the "Financial Aid - Accepted Students" box.
For CONFIRMED STUDENTS click on the "Financial Aid" box.
Click on Financial Aid System" to view your Unsatisfied Requirements.
Click on "Verify", which will take you to https://ship.studentforms.com to view your Financial Aid tasks. You will need to create an account if you don’t already have one.
Failure to comply with verification will result in no federal or state aid being funded to you.
After uploading your documents, please allow for processing time.
4. You must review your Financial Aid; you must accept or decline your Federal Student Loans (which must be repaid) on the myShip Experience Portal.
5. You will be required to complete a Master Promissory Note and Entrance Counseling to borrow your federal student loan at Shippensburg University.
6. Private alternative loans come from a private lending institution, like a bank. If you are declared ineligible for Federal aid or you require additional funds after Federal aid and assistance from Shippensburg have been provided to you, you may apply for these kinds of loans.
