The Office of the Registrar provides services for Ship students, alumni, faculty, administration and staff.
These services include maintaining all students' records, transcript processing, enrollment verifications, scheduling, course registration, maintaining records on the student database, processing class lists, classroom assignments, graduation applications, and diploma mailings. All of these services are provided in accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA).

Visiting Student
Under the Visiting Student Program, courses you take will be recorded on your academic record at Shippensburg and the grades you receive will be included in your QPA calculation. This program is intended to allow you to take advantage of courses available across the State System, without loss of institutional residency, eligibility for honors or athletics, or credits toward graduation at the home institution.
Military Call-Up
The Board of Governors of the State System of Higher Education has adopted a policy which will permit tuition refund for students who are ordered to active military service. Undergraduate students who must leave school for military obligations should provide a copy of their military orders to the academic dean’s office. Doctoral and Graduate students should provide a copy of their military orders to the Registrar’s office.

Act 48/Act 45 PIL Credit
Effective July 1, 2000, all Pennsylvania educators holding Pennsylvania public school certification are required to participate in ongoing professional education activities in order to maintain their certification. For specific deadlines and requirements, please visit Pennsylvania Department of Education’s website at https://www.education.pa.gov.
At your request Shippensburg University will report any and all credits and grades earned, for courses indicated, to the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) for you.
Release of Directory Information
Under the provisions of FERPA, the university may release directory information about students without violating privacy rights. Shippensburg University does not make directory information generally available to the public. Shippensburg University limits its release of directory information for official University purposes. Individual students may request that this directory information not be released.
Grades
Final Semester Grades
Grades are available at the end of the semester through the myShip Experience portal. For a better understanding of unusual grading situations and instructions to access your grades, visit the page linked below.
Early Warning Grade
During a student’s academic career, a student will receive early warning grades approximately 7 weeks into the full semester. These grades, which do not become part of a student’s academic record, are intended to warn a student about classes they are in danger of failing. Early warning grades are available through the myShip Experience portal, and a notification of availability of early warning grades is sent to the student’s university e-mail account.
S/U Grading
A request to change an undergraduate course to the Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory option may be made only during the first 2 weeks of the fall/spring semester and only during the first 4 days of the winter/summer semester. After the deadline, no changes will be made.
