Women's and Gender Studies Certificate
Completing the women’s and gender studies certificate program can benefit students in any major and it only requires 12 credits.
The interdisciplinary nature of the program allows you to take electives from many different fields of study. Courses explore the intersections of:

Courses also investigate previously neglected materials, and apply new methodological, critical and theoretical approaches in order to analyze and explain the role and status of women in society, and the impact of gendered practices within societies and cultures.

Course Work for Women's and Gender Studies Certificate
Students can earn a Certificate in Women’s and Gender Studies by completing the two core courses and two of the approved electives, which must come from two different disciplines. One course may be double-counted toward the student’s major and the WMST Certificate. Verification of the WMST Certificate will appear on the student’s transcript. Three courses must be taken at Shippensburg University.
