Dr. Michael Moltz

decorativeDr. Moltz earned his PhD from the University of Tennessee. His research focuses on public personnel administration and public policy. His work has been published in Administration and Society, Public Integrity, the International Journal of Public Administration, Energy Research and Social Science, and Armed Forces and Society. 

Dr. Moltz serves as the MPA program director. In this role he is the advisor for Ship’s MPA students and the faculty internship supervisor for the MPA program. Under his supervision, students have presented original research at state, regional, and national academic conferences in the fields of public administration and public policy. 

His teaching interests include graduate courses in public budgeting, personnel administration, and nonprofit management. He also teaches courses across the undergraduate curriculum, including American government, introduction to public administration, and public policy.
