Political Science Minor
A political science minor provides a strong understanding of United States government and policy as well as world politics.
Required courses focus on United States government, world politics and public policy. Half of the courses are electives, allowing you to tailor the program to your personal interests.
Students with intended career paths that involve governmental policy or regulation would especially benefit from pursuing a political science minor.
You may join the Political Science Club to connect and engage in the debate about politics and current events. Members of the club organize and participate in non-partisan political activities, take field trips to Washington, D.C., and become involved in fun events relating to the world of politics.
Course Work for Political Science Minor
The undergraduate political science minor provides students with an understanding of governmental institutions, non-governmental organizations, political behavior, global politics, theory, and law.
Students learn how to analyze situations and events, draw conclusions, and communicate their findings clearly.
Our graduates go on to work in and around politics and in non-political fields, because our program emphasizes transferable skills that are valuable in any profession.
